Nancy Holt (Urmston)
« on: Sunday 20 December 20 15:55 GMT (UK) »
Nancy Holt (nee Hancock). Born 1836 in Sale Cheshire.
Married William Holt, market Gardner in July 1856, Altrincham, Cheshire.
Died 1914. Barton Upon Irwell. William died ? 1891.
I can’t find any burials for her or for William. I have no reason to think that they traveled far from Urmston /Barton. It’s a mystery. Anyone any ideas?

Hi there

Where have you looked for burials?  If you haven't done so would suggest contacting the nearest cemetery and if they have a record for Nancy as you know the year she died.

Is Nancy a widow on the 1891 census?
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Wow!,,
That’s incredible. I have been looking for years.
I can’t see a grave in “Find a grave” which is odd as I guess they were buried in the same place (?  Cremated but it seems a bit early for a cremation.
Where did you find the obituary?
Thank you so much

Or you can register with BNA and they give you three free page views
https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/account/register

They are both on there, William's notice took a bit of digging out due to the vagaries of their ocr text transcriptions ;D
