Thomas Sunderland born c.1813

I hope this posting is in the correct Yorkshire Riding.   Sorry if I've used the wrong one.

Records I've found support Thomas Sunderland (1813-1875)  married Betty Speak (1819-1879) in Heponstall on 27 August 1835.   I've found their census records from 1841 onwards which record Thomas was born in Heponstall.

Family folklore is the Sunderland family were Flemish immigrants who brought with them their weaving skills (supported in census record occupations).   If so the family perhaps had some presence in Halifax Piece Hall.

I would like to find more about Thomas's family, who were his parents and would be grateful for help and advice where to go.

First, thanks Pennines for your two posts since deleted.    Trish, your thread looks promising and using freesearch Henry Sunderland age 54 (1841 census) born c.1787 records a birth in Snaith Yorkshire. father Samuel Sunderland.

Sorry I'm a little confused.

The one I posted with Wife Betty is born c 1787 Sowerby in 1851 Census.
Living in Heptonstall.

Yes there is a Henry c 1787 living in Snaith in 1841 also, Wife Bessy

Sorry to confuse - my fault, I misread the entry in family search.

The family I'm researching includes Henry Sunderland, born 1787 in Sowerby who married Betty Walton in 1809, Heptonstall.    I can't see a record for Henry that names his father.

Family search also includes a Henry Sunderland born 1787 in Snaith, father Samuel.  I will ignore this record.
