Thomas loftus marriage
« on: Sunday 27 December 20 19:03 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone bring up more details on marriage of Thomas Loftus to a Philomena Robbins in Tullamore on 29 august 1925?

I’d be interested in the name of Thomas father and where he was from.
Thanks

Aghadowey's marriage record find shows that Thomas (the groom) was resident in Athlone. His father also Thomas, was a labourer. Philomena Robbins was residing in the townland of ErryArmstrong just outside the town of Clara.

My initial take on this is that Philomena was the daughter whose birth was registered as Mary Ellen for  parents Patrick Robbins and Mary Neill who married in Clara Horsleap RC parish on 11 February 1892 (no father's details mentioned in the church marriage transcript), Patrick having died 6 months before her birth... you can see what you think of this:

So I can see that Thomas Loftus and Mary Egan had 8 children 4 of which were boys:

Patrick b.15 March 1878
John b. 4 April 1880
Thomas b. 19 dec 1886 / 1888 who married philomena robbins 1923
Michael b. 8 May 1890

I can find them all living in bunnyconnellan or Bonniconlon in 1901 and 1911 they would have been 30yrs plus and unmarried.
I’m curious to see if any of the other boys married or were in the army?

Thanks for all your help

Sorry if I'm not understanding you correctly, but where does Mary Egan come from? (as in Reply #6) and how does my Reply # 3 help you... I'm lost for now.
