Hello I'm trying to find my great grandfather's  birth and his parents he was Samuel Crossland born 1825 in Sutton in Ashfield according to his death  notice and census he married martha massey
Any help would be great thank you.

Could you give details of where you have him - census and marriage especially.
I can’t see that marriage .
There is one to Ruth Kesteven and this couple are in censuses.

Samuel Crosland, bp.2/7/1825 Sutton in Ashfield, son of John and Ann.

He married Ruth Kesteven 3/11/1846.

Sorry I got that wrong. He married Ruth kesteven Jan 1838 in Mansfield.

A John Crosland married an Ann Willey on 25 Dec 1823 at St Mary Magdalene, Sutton in Ashfield. Hence these are probably his parents.

(By the way are you sure about the marriage year you have given for Samuel at 1838? He would only have been 13 years old unless he was baptised as an older child.)
