Yes, we definitely need some details of Frank Crossland and his wife to be able to help you.   When/where was he born?

Now I'm trying to see if there's a connection between Samuel Crossland and Frank Crossland was born in Sheffield 1947 his mother's maiden name is Stanley. As I'm trying to find Frank's parents to see the connection.

If you use the link below, it will take you to a page where you can search for Frank's baptism. There was a possible baptism in 1947 and the parents names are given.

http://www.sheffieldindexers.com/ParishBaptismIndex.html

Those parents married in Sheffield in 1944 and there was another possible birth in Sheffield in 1945. I'm not giving details as we are venturing onto the territory of likely living people but details are easily found on freebmd.

The problem is that we don't know the age of Frank's father when he married, so can't narrow down his birth and be extension, his lineage. I think you would need confirmation from the Crossland/Stanley marriage certificate of the groom's father's name to take this forward with certainty.

I've followed the line of Frank Crossland born 1947 Sheffield:

Father Charles Frank Crossland born 1927, son John Thomas Crossland
John Thomas Crossland born 1902, son of Frank Crossland
Frank Crossland born 1876, son of Thomas Crossland
Thomas Crossland (birth reg'd Tom) born 1850, son of Jonathan Crossland
Jonathan Crossland bp.26/12/1817 Ecclesfield, Yorkshire, son of George (a Nailer) and Elizabeth
George Crossland bp.16/2/1779 Ecclesfield, son of Robert (residence Grenoside)
Robert Crossland born ?, bur.11/1/1780 Ecclesfield (residence Grenoside)

Following Frank's line relatively easy - however, his line seems firmly rooted in Yorkshire (specifically  in Ecclesfield) going back to a Robert born unknown who died in 1780 Ecclesfield.

Although Ecclesfield and Sutton in Ashfield are only 34 miles apart (as the crow flies) I cannot see a link between Samuel's family and Frank's.
