Half brothers son....
« on: Friday 08 January 21 16:07 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

Just waiting for some DNA results to come through on a friends birth family results as he was adopted.
I DO USE DNA PAINTER, but just want clarification from you all.
What centimorgans am I expectiing to see from a half brothers son ?
Is the relationship a half nephew or less if it is a half brother.
Sorry if it seems obvious but working in the Covid educational enviroment leaves your brain slightly frazzled.
Any centimorgans estimations welcome.
Stay safe and thankyou x

Hi,

The average cM for a half brother's son is given as 891 with a range of 500-1446cM on this chart:https://thegeneticgenealogist.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Relationship_Chart_FINAL_August_2017.jpg - he would definitely be a half nephew!
