I have a Scottish testament made in jajvict and fourscore years.  What is this date?

The probate was 2 Aug 1684 but I want to know when the will was written.

Looking at the bottom of this land tax transcription on Scotlands Places Jajvict four score and ten years is transcribed as 1690

The year is 1680.

What you are reading as a t at the end is probably just a separator.

In Scotland the word probate is not used. We speak about confirmation. If the document says at the beginning that it is a "testament testamentar", it will contain a will as well as an inventory. If it says at the beginning that it is a "testament dative", the person died without making a will and what you will have is confirmation of "executors dative" and an inventory.
