Christopher James Walsh
« on: Sunday 17 January 21 00:15 GMT (UK) »
Hi, Would I be able to get some help in trying to find a little more about my partner's side of the family at all, please? I am having a lot of trouble locating ancestors of hers.

Christopher James Walsh born 10 Sep 1942 in Dublin, later died in 2015.

I am struggling to locate his parents although I know their names were Patrick Andrew Walsh and Alice Leech. I know that these have passed, away according to my father-in-law (before he eventually passed).

But any information on either Christopher Walsh's parents would be greatly appreciated!

Have you got his birth cert for father's occupation and address ?

there is a Patrick Andrew Walsh born in 1916 the right time frame to be his father

Thank you for this, I am unsure on how to obtain birth certificates for Ireland as I am in England and it seems to be different to the normal way I would purchase certificates. I would love to find out!

His father was defiantly Patrick Andrew Walsh and his mother Alice Leech. So I believe this is the right person myself. Does that give any more details on their family at all such as a marriage certificate between Patrick and Alice? I would love to purchase that at the same time as buying his Birth certificate.

Many thanks for your help!

If it helps, Christopher had a sister called Rita who also sadly passed away. I know of two other sisters but unsure if they are alive as I have never had any contact with them.

In addition to Christopher James in 1942 and Rita J in 1938, I can see possible candidates in the civil reg births index for a son in 1936 (mmn Leach), a daughter in 1939 (mmn Leech) and a daughter in 1946 (mmn Leech), all registered Dublin North (withholding names in case alive).  But I'm struggling to find a marriage for Patrick and Alice in the run up to that series of potential children.  I wondered about the following death of a 41 year old Alice Walsh of Sean MacDermott Street Upper in 1953 (informant husband Patrick), is there a chance Alice died early?

I can now mention Adelaide R Walsh born in 1939, for she died in 1940 (see below, informant was A. Walsh, mother) - note the street again is Sean MacDermott Street Upper, albeit a different house to the above 1953 death registration:
