Names of Sponsors or Godparents
« on: Saturday 23 January 21 21:09 GMT (UK) »
I am hoping someone can help me confirm/decipher the two names at the bottom of these attached images taken from Catholic baptism records.

I think the first name on this list is "Timotheus O'Brien" [Timothy O'Brien] but I'm not sure of the second name. The first name looks to be "Elizabeth" but I'm not totally sure about the last name although I think it starts with a G.

In the second image the names look like "Michael" and "Elizabeth" but I'm not about the surnames. His surname look like it is "Looney" and hers may be "Burns" but I'd appreciate clarification.

In the third image the first person named is "Dionysius Donovan" but I'd appreciate help on the second person's name. I think the first name is Maria and the surname looks like it starts with "m".

Can anyone help

Matt

Thanks for that. I thought it looked like "Mo....." or "Mu...." but I wasn't certain.

I  agree that Elizabeth’s name looks like YOUD but  I haven’t found any other examples.

Addendum. Now  found several examples.

Thanks for those suggestions. I've made a note to look for any possible connections to the names YOUD or LOVNEY [or possibly LOUNEY?].

Can anyone suggest a possible surname for the second person on this image. The first person named is Jeremiah Ryan. The first name of the second person may be Maria or Mary but I can't be sure [although I'm sure it starts with an M].

Thank again

Matt
