Seeking any information - Mabel, Norah and Emilie BELL
« on: Monday 01 February 21 07:06 GMT (UK) »
Mabel, Norah and Emilie/Elsie (?) were noted in the 1891 & 1901 Census living with their parents and Leonard their brother.
A cousin has obtained a copy of Leonard's 1957 probate which divides his assets equally between M.E. Hocken (Mabel?) - 1/3rd as sister,  N. L. Green (Norah?) – 1/3rd as sister and  E. E. Bell (Elsie/Emilie?) – 1/3rd as sister.
As all three ladies were noted in the 1891 Census, it is highly probable they are now deceased.

Sincere thanks for any information.

Mildura is in Victoria.

Where did Leonard die? When was the Will written?     Each a third of....what?.   What did the estate consist of?

Where were Leonard BELL and his sisters born?

Where did Leonard die? Presumably Mildura.
Will written when? Unknown.
Each one third of what? Cash settlement following sale of property (presumably Leonard's) at 100 Twelfth Street, Mildura less fees/charges/debts.
Where born? Leonard was English born.

He was a very difficult man to properly locate.

Is this your Leonard BELL?

BDM VIC death
21488/1954  BELL  Leonard Charles  parents  Elizabeth LOADER / BELL Charles William
died  MILDURA   age 70

You need to ask cousin when the Will was written....who were the executors....and what 1957 probate is about?

Executors were Public Trustee of Victoria. The hard-copy Summary makes reference to a "Legacy under Will of I.M.T. Bell £500 0s 0d". Could that be the reason for Probate or was it because of outstanding Rates, Land Taxes, Sewerage, etc?

Apologies, I don't follow your entry re FreeBDM, I am not as experienced as your good self.

Excellent. So very kind of you. As my cousin resides in Hong Kong, you can imagine the difficulty he faces attempting genealogy.
