Mystery of George Brimble in no 1841 census
« on: Tuesday 02 February 21 20:07 GMT (UK) »
looking for my grt grandfather George Brimble in any 1841 census. He was born to William and Phebe in 1824  Camerton Somerset. Found two sisters baptisms,  Sarah in June 1822. Betty in 1826. William and Pheobe were married in February 1822 Dunkerton.
I found George in future census up to his death and his marriage in 1848, his wife Abigail Bateman's  father is stated as deceased but William is living.
I found a George brimble living with a David brimble but its the wrong George.
Thank you

I see William remarried after Phoebe died - could George actually be his stepson who took his name?

Wasnt aware that the Pheobe in my tree died before 1851. Where did you find?
I found the baptism of George, whuch states that father and mother were William and  Phebe Brimble.

If he was born in Somerset & married in Abergavenny - is there a particular reason why you have posted on the Sussex board?

You will find him on the Welsh 1841 census in Breconshire

Placed on Somerset board.

I think the one CaroleW has found was the one you rejected ?
He married in Wales and was there on the Census later on.

The George Brimble with David Brimble on the '41 Census is still with David (his brother) on the '51 Census - in Machen.
This George Brimble died, unmarried, of burns suffered in a colliery explosion 26 April 1858.
