Statue of Fishwife in Nairn

Hello,
There is a statue on the shores in Nairn, the last fisher wife named Annie Ralph.
Would it be possible to find out which Ralph line she was from.
My Grandfather (a Ralph) came from Nairn and I do know the ancestry line included fisher people and merchant seaman, like most people that lived there, they resided in the fisher town area and go back some time. Names I have are:- my G/F James Ralph, he moved to Australia and married my G/mother Alice Olive Cunliffe, my G/grandfather George Ralph married Margaret Main then Isabella Skinner, lived @27 Society Street,Nairn. Annie is probably another line, but worth an ask.

Looks like it’s the other line of Ralph’s. Similar names, but I have been told it was a tight community that used the same names over and over. And my Ralph came to Australia not NZ

Just for the record George Ralph married Margaret Wilson in 1870, then Isabella Skinner in 1875.

George was 23 when he married Margaret who was 21.  His father was James Ralph, fisherman and mother Anne.  Can't read her MS.

Date of marriage was 21st October 1870.

      Well I believe the names you have written are so close to what my tree has, I just have one query.
       I have marriage records for George Ralph and first wife
Margaret Main and also second wife Isabella Skinner, Margaret Main not Wilson.

When did George marry his first wife and where?  I have checked the details for his second marriage and yes, it does not match what I found for 1870.

George's parents are James, fisherman deceased, and Margaret MS Main also deceased.

No marriage is coming up on Scotland's People for a George Ralph to a Margaret Main pre 1875.

You are correct, I checked the marriage certificate and it definitely says George Ralph marrying Margaret Ralph. I thought it was a mistake, but it seems not. It’s all so difficult when they’re all within a small community
