Caroline Bellis
« on: Sunday 07 February 21 18:45 GMT (UK) »
My relative John Griffiths married a Caroline Bellis in 1866 in what is given on North Wales BMD as a Wrexham Civil Marriage.I found the Surname of Caroline finding the Birth of their daughter Caroline born in 1873.My problem is that I can't find this Caroline anywhere before 1866.

This has become of interest after a descendant of Caroline(1873) got in touch with me via Ancestry. However this descendant is  of no help as he has to be rated 0  internet savvy.Naturally though he is asking me of the Births etc of John and Caroline parents of Caroline junior.

Regards
William Russell Jones.

Where and when was Caroline snr born?

Presume you don’t have the 1866 marriage cert showing her fathers name?

Caroline was about age 40 when she and John Griffiths - widower - married so have you considered that Bellis may have been a previous married name? Caroline birth reg 1873 is the only one to a Griffiths/Bellis marriage.
John Griffiths previously married to a Mary Lewis if the birth registrations for twins John and Richard born 1858 I have are correct.
There is a marriage Dec 1/4 1855 on FreeBMD with an Edward Bellis and a Caroline Jones on the same page. Registration district  Holywell

Yes the 1871 entry does give at least a Mary A born in c 1864.I've considered possible second marriages but the Caroline Birth confirms her name when she married.
