I’m thinking in particular of the 1820s. A family that I believe are my ancestors had 2 children before 1818 and then possibly 4 children after 1830.
I’m trying to account for the 12ish year gap between children. 5 of the 6 have St Cuthbert’s baptism records with the same two parents listed and there doesn’t seem to be any evidence of the father being in the military. He was a bookbinder and the family seemed very static in the area.

No obvious gaps it seems. Have a look at the St Cuthberts registers here www.nrscotland.gov.uk/files//research/list-of-oprs/list-of-oprs-674-701.pdf
