John Weaver born 1830 Montgomeryshire
« on: Tuesday 09 February 21 18:23 GMT (UK) »
Hi All,

Wasn't sure 100% where to post this one so I've plumped for Montgomeryshire seeing as my elusive John Weaver was born there.

I have seen via a Family Tree that he married Mary Ann Munroe/Monroe in 1874 (a note specifically states 5th February 1874 at Liverpool Registry Office and that his Father was listed as William Weaver).

Everything from there onwards I'm fine with - shows him in 1881 in Liverpool aged 49 (Engine Driver) and 1891 aged 59 (Engine Driver) and then he died in 1900 aged 68 also in Liverpool.  The 1881 census states he was born in Montgomeryshire and in 1891 it just states Wales.

However there's nothing to completely confirm to me where he is prior to this especially in 1871 (just 3 years before marrying Mary Ann)

There are 2 John Weaver's born in Montgomeryshire on the 1871 census with 1 living in Cardiff and the other in West Bromwich and both are still married.  I'm sure John Weaver would have been married previously especially being 13 years older than Mary Ann.

Also on searching for births there's 2 John Weaver's baptised 1831 in Montgomeryshire both with the Father as William and even the Mother's name is the same for both which states Mary!  :-X :-\

Any assistance with confirming which is right and matching info up would be really appreciated.

Thanks,
Phil

Not the one in West Bromwich, he's still there in later census years still married to Ellen.

What occupation is given for William on the marriage certificate?

Both 1881 & 1891 have his birthyear as 1832

There is an 1841 entry aged 10 - parents William & Ann -  William is a carpenter

Another aged 9 - William is an Agricultural labourer

The occupation is not given from the marriage in 1874. The person who has added it typed it just saying the date, Liverpool Registry Office and that the Father was William. Nothing else mentioned  :-[

To have an actual date of marriage from a registry office wedding they must have bought the cert.  May be worth your while contacting the tree owner
