Work house, Daventry Union
« on: Wednesday 10 February 21 12:44 GMT (UK) »
First, apologies as I'm new to this !
I have a birth record from May 1855.  States Daventry Union.  Which comes up on google as the local workhouse   Is this correct ?
I also have a census record and an army record of around the same time with location Daventry Union.  Which seems to be an administrative area of Northamptonshire.
Confused !
Any help very welcome.

When Registration Districts were first formed in 1837, they were based on the existing Poor Law Unions.

Some Registration Districts kept the word "Union" in their title for quite some years afterwards ;D
No link to the workhouse unless it is expressly mentioned as an address.
