Clark Daughters - New Zealand - Photo Dating plus additional assistance
« on: Thursday 11 February 21 05:32 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Through the use of DNA, I have recently determined who my great grandmother's parents were, and also discovered that they had 13 daughters.  I've been in contact with a 3rd cousin who has some photo's of the daughters, but apart from two of them, we are finding it hard to determine just which daughters might be in the photo's, based upon how old they look.  With some, it's obvious that it's an older sister, with most, it's not so clear.  It would be most helpful if Members could offer their opinions on the youngest to the oldest.  I will also provide a list of the names and year that each daughter was born. Whilst there were 13 daughter, the two oldest were born prior to my great great grandfather's marriage to my great great grandmother, and I suspect that they do not appear in these photos, due to being much older.

Due to file size limitations, I will post one photo with this post, and more as separate posts - I hope that this is ok!

Any assistance would be most appreciated!

The first two I would say are early Edwardian and the last one mid-late 1890s.

Thank you Treetotal.  So you don't think the three could have been taken at the same time?  I had wondered if they were, as there is a plant on left in the first 2 photo's that looks like the one that Clara (the individual photo) is standing beside, except she is standing on the other side of it.  The dresses look similar to me too, but then I'm a complete novice at dating photo's!
