I have discovered that in 1945 Harry ARDEN married, in India, a Vera Josephine DREW who was the daughter of Manuel Christopher DREW and ? URQUHART. Both Harry who was in the RAF apparantly and his father in law were involved in the Indian Forces but I have, within my limited knowledge, been unable to trace any military records for Harry or any records at all for Manuel and his wife. Any suggestions where I might look please?

If Harry was in the RAF then his records will not be online;  they are held by the MOD and you can apply for a copy (cost £30).

As the wedding in Bombay was post 1930 no images are available online; researchers need to visit the British Library........not possible at the moment!

A possibility:

Vera J Drew birth registered 3Q 1921 Amesbury, Wiltshire.

GRO Index Army Marriages (1881-1955) has a MARK C Drew marrying a Mona V Urquhart in 1917 at Hoshiarpur, India.

Thanks. I had the name as Manuel from a Family Search marriage record. This lets me go forward.
