Hi I`m looking to trace my great aunt Kate or Catherine Geary from Kinsale, she emigrated to the usa in 1897 from Kinsale and has not been heard of since. Her father was Daniel Geary and her mother Margaret Bowen, any information would be appreciated.

This appears to be her on this passenger ship list for Boston in 1897. She is going to her uncle's home in Roxbury, MA. Can't make out his name. Also written in the space to the right of the uncle is the name "Cousin Thomas Buckley".

Do these names mean anything. Who's the uncle?

I think she stated that she was going to her uncle Con Bowen`s cousin Thomas Buckley,
A Thomas Buckley had left from Cork some few years before he was from Minane Bridge near Kinsale.
Kate was born in 1869 so she was 27 yrs old, her mothers maiden name was Bowen.
Thank you for the interest, I would dearly love to know what became of her, she was only 13 when her mother died and had to look after her four other siblings I`m sure life was very hard on her.

It doesn't find Catherine, but she was headed to Thomas Buckley's house. The address was in the last column of the manifest.

Boston City Directory
1898
Thomas J Buckley, laborer, home at 1 Nicholson Court

---------
But no trace of her after that. I even tried looking for any US records of people with parents Daniel Geary and Margaret Bowen, leaving out her name completely, but didn't find anything.

Thank you for that info. the family were of the opinion that she may have been murdered, perhaps it was so.
I wonder if Thomas J Buckley is in the US census?
