South Korean Winter
« on: Tuesday 16 February 21 11:26 GMT (UK) »
I would like to know the Korean word for the practice of wrapping young trees with straw to keep them from freezing in the harsh winter. This is quite distinct from the band that is wrapped round a tree trunk before winter comes. Pests seek out this place as being warm but when the spring comes, the band is removed, complete with pests, and is burnt. If both anglicised and Hangul names can be given that would be marvellous. Thanks for any help, Toby.
