Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for relatives of John Masterson - Driver Royal Corps of Signals - service number :- 775576 -  died 25/12/1940 -  Buried Edinburgh (Mount Vernon) Roman Catholic Cemetery.

The private memorial marking the grave of Driver Masterson no longer provides adequate commemoration. The commission is in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave.

               You have the correct marriage John Joseph Bradley Masterson they married in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church Leith on 27 January 1937  he was a pawnbroker  Marion Kay Sorlie a Shirt Machinist
his father John mother Margaret Bradley  (dec)  hers Alfred  Sorlie  mother Marion ms Kay both dec

Thank you very much Suzilad - much appreciated - its the birth record for John Joseph B Masterson I can't seem to see - says he was 31 years old when he died so should be 1909 - strange or I missed it  :-\

This may be the second marriage for his wife :-

You are very welcome Sandra I have been so grateful for all your help through the years.
Marion remarried and died in Leith in 1987

John Joseph h Bradley Masterson (it is registered under Masterton on SP ) on cert is Masterson born 14 May 1909 at 61 Dairy ? Street Glasgow parents were married  14 January 1904 Glasgow.
