Can anyone please help or any ideas.
I have reached Nicholas Emmett b.1607 Dean Prior? Devon: father purported to be David Emmett b.1560 wife Elenor b.1563.  Ancestry, Find my Past, Family Search all roughly agree.
Nothing beyond David, however, and I am reluctant to believe that Elenor had a child when she was 44. Of course it could be the last of many, poor woman.

FindMyPast have the transcript for the baptism 4 Apr 1607 at Dean Prior (Their source familysearch)
This transcript names the father of Nicholas Emet as Nicholas Emet

ADDED Ancestry also has the father as Nicholas (Source familysearch)

Thank you Rosie99.  I will look again.  I am amazed how often when I look at these sites a second or third time I get a different result each time.
I still feel that 44 in 1607 was a dangerous age to have a child hence my doubt.

Do you mean that Davids wife would have been 44  :-\.    The 1607 baptism gives his fathers name as Nicholas not David.

Hi Rosie99
Your are quite right in your correction.  I have looked at Family Search again.  Annoyingly, Ancestry  cites David as the father.  I'll keep at it, but, whatever, I can't seebeyond this point.

A Nichus EMMET, son of Willi & Isetae was baptised at Ugborough 15 Dec 1571. This was about 8 miles from Dean Prior. I would say these are 'Latinisations' of Nicholas, William & Iset as all of this parish's entries at that time were written in Latin. There was also a son Robtus (presumably Robert) baptised in 1572.

Hi DOB7
Very interesting.  First time I have had Latin appearing in my results.  What was you source spo I can explore further.

I presume that you mean someones tree on there cites David as the father.  The Ugborough baptism is on familysearch but looks as though it could have been extracted from an LDS church members tree, the original register would need checking.

I checked the Church Register having first found the entry on FamilySearch. It is written in Latin.
