WW1 Uniform Identification please.

Sorry may seem like a silly question.
Can the Possible Regt be identified from the Arm Patches on his Uniform
The Family claim he was Pte 461 Joseph Thompson in 9th King's Liverpool Regt then
Cpl 13027002 of the Pioneer Corps

Where did these numbers come from?
7 digit numbers were introduced in 1920.
Not sure about the 8 digit number.
There's nothing to identify a Regt. unfortunately.
All I can tell you is that he has 1 GC chevron = 2years service.
Also I'm not seeing an MIC for him, 9/KLR were in France from March 1915.
Added: OK I can see his service record.
He attested in 1908 & was discharged in 1909 so not him as this man served at least 2 years.

Just been advising the Family that they had the wrong Parents Thompson/McCabe showing him born 1892
When Attestation and Cemetery Records state he was born March Quarter 1890 ( February) and therefore had different parents per GRO Index
Oh well back to the start.

He could have lied to the army about his age. It happened a lot.

There is a Joseph Thompson with that 13/6/1892 birthdate in Liverpool in the 1939 register.
