Mary Dovey b circa 1788 in Mamble

Hi there,

Can anyone provide and details on the above person, my 3 x Great Grandmother?

I have her marrying Edward Aston in Mamble 18/04/1814 with her first daughter, Caroline baptised in December of the same year.

However, I cannot find any details of Mary's parents or siblings so anything would be useful.

I think I've tracked her up to the 1861 census but that year she lists her birth place as Barton rather than Mamble.

There is a baptism for a Mary Dovey 19 February 1786 in Bayton (about 2 miles from Mamble).Mother Ann, no father given.

Both of the parish, both signed X. Witnesses Saml Aston & Sarah Cooper.

The record posted by Emeltom also on freereg, Mary, noted as Base Born is the only Dovey born there. There are two Dovey baptisms at Mamble around same time, only mother Jane noted.

Interesting, looking at the image of the 1861 census it does look more like Bayton than Burton.
