 ;D

Would have been helpful I guess to have had the birth/birthplace of the FRANKS first child mentioned in the intro ...  ;D.

First appearance of William Hamilton FRANKS in NZ electoral rolls is >

1890 - Wellington - 18 Cambridge Road - occ:  Labourer

Or maybe he'd moved on ... daughter Maud C. L. FRANKS apparently born 7 June 1889 at Palmerston North.

Ah, I hadn’t got around to looking at the electoral rolls.
I was waiting for the OP to see what she thought of what we had found so far. But she doesn’t seem to have been on since posting.

Are those other passengers on the Rimutaka on the newspaper link I posted to be found on the Petone database?

These passengers are:    Miss MORRISON / Mrs and Mrs FRANKS / Mr WARD / Mr SMITHE (found as SMYTHE) / Mr BUTCHER / Mr ROWE
:     [  Petone Settlers database :  As previously, the source was the "Evening Post" of  18/07/1885 ]
