Hi
Looking for any information regarding John and Mary Boldon.
They appear on the 1841 census living in Hope Street, St George, York, where John was employed as a glassmaker.
John had been born c1791, Mary, c1796, their daughter, Elizabeth, born c1821.
These three had been born in England but not in the county of Yorkshire.
They also had two other children with them, William, born c 1828, and Margaret, born c 1830 - these two children had been born in Scotland.
Margaret was in Sunderland by 1851, as she married John Hodgson Robson within St Michael & All Angels on the 1st March 1851 - she confirmed her father as being John Boldon, a glassmaker.
The two witnesses, Thomas Allsop and Mary Ann Forsyth, do not appear to be related to the couple.
Mary Ann Forsyth was employed, alongside Margaret, as a house servant on the 1851 census, within the household of Thomas Reay in Duke Street, Bishopwearmouth.
John Hodgson Robson was also with his wife in the same household.
This is the only census where Margaret's place of birth in Scotland is given, but it is unreadable.
She remained in the Hylton/Ford area of the town for the rest of her life.
Can anybody find a baptism for her? Or her parents marriage? Or even her parents/siblings in 1851?
Thanks Sue
