McKenna McMullan Marriage

Help, I  have been trying to find the marriage of Charles McKenna and Rosetta McMullan, I know their first child was born in Broughshane St. Ballymena in 1883, the rest of their children were all born in Belfast, the census returns states that Charles and Rosetta were both born in Belfast, R/C, but that is all I can find on them prior to Rosetta's death in 1946

I can see a transcript of a church marriage record for this couple, it took place in St. Peter's in Belfast, I can't see a civil record, but it wouldn't be the first marriage I've encountered for that church that wasn't registered for civil purposes.  Anyhow, the marriage is recorded as having taken place on 3 July 1882, Charles' address was recorded as 19 Belgrade Street, Rose's address as 1 Balkan Street. On the plus side, both parents' forenames for each party were mentioned: Edward & Catherine McKenna; James & Margaret McMullen.  The witnesses were Michael Brown and Jane Murphy.  A note added to the record states that the husband's parents were from Bosnia Street and the wife's parents were from Ballymena.

From the Belfast Weekly News of 12 December 1912:

CRIMEAN VETERAN'S DEATH IN BELFAST

A veteran of the Crimea and the Indian Mutiny has just passed away in Belfast, in the person of Edward McKenna, who had resided at 15, Bosnia Street. The deceased, who was a native of the County Monaghan, where he was born in 1833, enlisted in the 82nd Regiment at the age of 19, and went to the Crimea with his regiment on the outbreak of hostilities in 1854...   Etc.

There are several such obituaries to him in local newspapers, including a picture of him wearing his medals.  One mentions that 'he is survived by a married son'. Another mentions that his birth in County Monaghan was 'near the borders of Tyrone'.  I can provide more from these obituaries by personal message if you wish.

Funeral from above address to-day (Tuesday), at 2 p.m., to Milltown Cemetery.  Loving Lord Jesus, give him eternal rest. Deeply regretted by his loving Daughter and Son-in-law.
