James COXON (born c1824) and his wife Jane (nee Harwood, born c1825)
« on: Saturday 27 February 21 10:32 GMT (UK) »
Mainly Jane I am interested in.
Am looking and failing to find any definite sighting of them after the 1881 census (though see below for a possible in 1891 census)

ANY suggestions/ databases I may not have checked/ straws to clutch at etc gratefully received.
I assume they are now dead (or planning their 200th birthday parties, restrictions permitting). List below with the info I have been able to find for Jane to save people duplicating work already done.

Thanks
Boo

Jane HARWOOD
born 03 Jun 1825 Swalwell, baptised Whickham 01 Jul 1825, parents Taylor and Jane (nee TAYLOR)

Possible/?likely 1891 census  Hobson/Burnopfield Colliery, age 60, born Waldridge??
(husband's birthplace also not as expected (should be Medomsley)

EDIT
Household split over two folios/ page numbers
Piece 4087/Folio 82/Page 12 & Piece 4087/Folio 83/Page13

A James Coxon is listed on the electoral registers at Burnopfield Colliery in 1892,1894, 1896 there is no entry for this name in Burnopfield in 1898. (NB I have seen cases where people died and yet were still listed for a couple of years afterwards in electoral registers!)

DISCOUNTED death registration for Jane COXON
1891 Q4 Durham 10a 234 - this lady was the wife of a William Crawford COXON (he was also the informant) if anyone has them in their tree they are welcome to the .pdf I bought and I will also add the details as a postem on FreeBMD.

Try 1891 census RG12 piece 4087 folio 82  Page 12
Thanks for looking Carole, I appreciate it.

As the household seems to have been split between two folios 82 and 83 (pages 12 & 13) I must have chosen the wrong one, sorry, I'll alter the original post to show that.

I do have that census as a possible/likely in the original post but the birthplaces are the fly in the ointment - which happens I know so its still in the 'possibles' category.
I still can't find a likely death reg or later census for either of them (I have discounted one 'possible' for Jane).

I had a look in 1881 but couldn’t find another match to the 1891 entry.

The differing birthplaces is odd, but in favour of it being the same couple is the fact that they are living in exactly the same house as in 1881, 74 Hobson.

Also in both censuses someone with the surname Graham lodging with them  :-\

Thanks Jennifer, it IS very/highly likely  - especially as Carole can't find anything in previous census returns to match a couple with these birthplaces (I had already tried that but its good to know I didn't miss something)

They just both resolutely refuse to be found in death registers etc. I've tried every cemetery/ parish burials info I have access to and zilch in those (though obviously I am limited by what is available online)
I do hate to be beaten but I think I am about ready to shove them back in the 'I have no idea when they died' box :-)
