I have not came across any record of him leaving the UK .have you checked what ships he was on at the time from that record ..

Yes I checked on ships he served on from the link you gave me.  I just wondered if there would be emmigration records from UK to Australia.

I checked immigration record from UK for Australia but not seeing anything so far

Thanks for your help on Edward - is it possible that he went to Australia on the £10 assisted passage and would there be records for this? I have searched NAA Aus but could only find his enlistment records.

I have not found any immigration records just the military records if I have the correct family there are 2 possible sons born 1948 and 1952 ..I think he is on the Electoral Roll records in Australia 1963 with possible new wife
