Isabella Paxton
« on: Thursday 04 March 21 05:41 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I’m trying to help a friend with some family research and have hit a dead end. I’m looking for the names of Isabella Paxton’s parents. Isabella was born about 1795 in Tweedmouth, Northumberland. She married Thomas Todd on the 21st of August 1814 in Tweedmouth, witnesses were listed as William Paxton and John Paxton. After the death of her husband Thomas, Isabella emigrated to New Zealand with her daughter Margaret in 1860, where she died 4 years later.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

There is a 1787 baptism in Tweedmouth.
Isabella daughter of William and Jane Paxton of Tweedmouth

There is also a son, John in 1798 which might fit with the name of the other witness. If this is the right family it is a Shute Barrington era baptism and gives more details of the parents
