Indenture to Joshua WOODWARD of (Trowbridge?) broad loom weaver dated 17th year of George (illegal).... but left after 4 years.

Googling:  George II was on the Throne of England from 1727 ton 1744 ....  so Stephen BULL was apprenticed in c1744 (left after 4 years c1748)

There is a baptism at Bradford, Wilts. 8 January 1718 - Stephen son of Stephen BULL - this seems a family name, although it's a generation and two earlier.

Family Search: gives Catherine BULL's christened at West Farleigh, Kent - 24 August 1760 - parents: Stephen and Ann.

I can't find his Apprentice Records on Ancestry - but around that time, the name of the father is quoted on other records.

There is a tree on Ancestry - which states

Stephen BULL, married Ann PHILIPS - 1752 at Fleet Prison.  I'm just been learning about Prison marriages.... and if you Google: Fleet Marriage - Wikipedia

Fleet Prison - One estimate suggests that there were between 70 and 100 clergymen wokring in the Fleet area between 1700 and 1753.  it was not merely a marriage centre for criminals and the poor, however both rich and poor availed themselves of the opportunity to marry quickly or in secret.

Wow, thanks.

William looks right.

The marriage is very promising. I'm sure there are some Philips in later census records with my Bull's!

Thank you very much, I'll start on the Philips!

?

Only putting this down as possible, as Stephen BULL is in Trowbridge at some point, and their first born was named William and also a daughter named Betty....

Thee is a baptism at Trowbridge, St James with St Stephen, Wiltshire

of

Ann PHILLIPS - 29 Septrember 1738 : parents: William & Betty
