Thomas Aistrip, Basket maker
« on: Tuesday 09 March 21 10:56 GMT (UK) »
When I was a small boy Mr Aistrip was making baskets just down the road from my home in Willow Row Walk, Spalding, he was a old man then in the  late 1940's but can't remember him being there after around 1950. Would like to know more about him and his family.

Strange! The RNAS ceased to exist in 1918. Presumably he was in the Fleet Air Arm.

Thanks for replies, this is good as I know he had a shop in Double Street and his workshop in Willow Row Walk was taken over by my uncle who was a builder in the late 1940's. DCB I would like to see the artical in the Lincolnshire Echo if it is possible for you to share it. I have a photo of him from a local facebook page. Did not know he had a son though but beleive he had brothers.
