Anna Bella Colhoun / Clarke

Good evening,

My great great aunt Annabella Colhoun married Robert Clarke in Ireland and moved and lived the rest of their lives in Canada. The only information I know of her is she was born on 18th June 1896 in County Tyrone, Ireland and died 2nd November 1974 (I believe this information came from my late nana).  She was understood to have passed away while living in Willowdale in Toronto.  I am not sure where she is buried / if there is a headstone and I have no information on her husband Robert, or if they had children.  I would love to find out more information, but not sure if this is possible given it was only in the 1970s she passed away.  Of course, given the current pandemic, I appreciate this may be yet a further barrier...

Any advice would be greatly received.

According to trees on Ancestry, she died 2 Nov 1974, Willowdale, Toronto.

I have looked through the death announcements in the Toronto Star and Globe and Mail newspapers...from Nov 1 1974 up to Nov 8 1974.   There are a couple of Clarkes, but not Annabella.

Perhaps she didn't have an obit?   Are you sure of the death date?

Hmm...any idea when Robert may have died?   Could she have married again?   Do you have an address in Willowdale (Toronto directories are available online up to 1969)?

There are a couple of entries in the City Directories in Willowdale (WLD) but not enough to confirm this is her.  There is also a couple of "Robt." in WLD as well.

The OP's best bet might be to wait for the 1931 Census release next year.

Have you found the arrival of Robert & Annabella in Canada? they might have travelled there with children.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
