Harriet Coe
« on: Friday 12 March 21 08:33 GMT (UK) »
On 15th April 1860 Harriet Coe (age 19) married Joseph Simkins (age 20) at Waterbeach Cambs.
Her father was William, labourer, and Joseph's father was also William, little farmer.
1851 census has a Harriet Coe (1842) in Waterbeach living with her grandmother, Elizabeth Coe (1785), and her Uncle, James Coe (1818).
Harriet and Joseph had 12 (twelve) children. In every census up to 1911 Harriet's birth is stated as 1841 or 1842 born Waterbeach.
Free BMD has a Harriett Coe Sep 1841 Chesterton (14 44).
GRO also has a Harriett Coe Sep 1841 (14 44) mother Catlin.
Can anyone see Harriet's parents?

Dec qrtr 1837 has these marriage refs

CATLIN    Elizabeth        Bury St.Edmunds    13   903
COE    William        Bury St.Edmunds    13   903

But of course there are another 6 with the same reference and whether they married each other I cannot see,

It certainly looks promising. The date is good, as are the names. Just need to confirm who married who from the six or so other names.

A tree on Ancestry says the mother is Mary Ann Cattell

Married William Coe  18 Nov 1823 and had children, of whom Harriet is the last.
Mary Ann dying 1844

The next youngest child is James William, said to be born Jan 1838. No sign in the GRO

This Mary Ann did not die in 1844.  The GRO reg they have linked is Cattell. Should be Coe.  And nothing in the parish register .

I cannot see a baptism for Harriet in 1842/1842/1843. Frustrating.
