Baptism of William Salt at Guilden Morden around 1660-1670
« on: Friday 12 March 21 12:42 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to trace the above baptism. However I am confused as IGI and Ancestry have only one William Salt here in this time period - William Salt christened 15 Sep 1661 parents John and Francis. However Find My Past has this William as well as a second christened 7 Jan 1665 parents William and Winnyfride. Does anyone have access to the actual register to resolve this issue? Thanks David

The records on Ancestry and FindMyPast are from two separate 'sources'.  The Ancestry record is from familysearch and the F M P records are from the local family history society.

John & Frances also baptise a Margaret on 6 March 1658
William & Winnifred also baptise an Ann on 28 May 1669

I doubt that original records will give any extra information.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't realise they were from different sources. As you say it would seem unlikely that the register will show any difference. I will have to try to crack it another way.
