JOHNSON, william b1860 in Norfolk, moved to Cheshire....
« on: Saturday 13 March 21 08:06 GMT (UK) »
William, a dock labourer,  Married Florence Jessie Parr 20/09/1880 Frodsham. Widowed with 6 children in 1898.
William married Sarah Helen Edwards in 1901 after the census.

On 1901 census I have William aged 40 & 3 of his children: Mary age 17, William age 14 & Polly age 5 all living at 20 English Row, Runcorn.

I cannot find anything for his other children: Betsey age 11, Jessie age 9. Have just found his youngest died aged 14 weeks, 14 weeks after her mother Florence.

I cannot find anything for any of the family on 1911 census.

Any ideas please? I am stumped.

Is this the family in 1891 -

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:49HQ-33Z

There is no mention of Betsy here, birth registered 1889.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Yes, this is them.

Betsey was baptised 07/01/1890 at Camden Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Runcorn. And then nothing else!.

I REALLY wish I had a time machine so I could go back and fill in all the blanks, its so frustrating.

Here is GRO. https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp

You sign in (free) and then go to search

Do you have birth details for Polly? I can’t see her.
What is the name of the youngest child who died?
I can’t see a birth for one with mother’s name Parr.

Betsey baptised 07/01/1890 Camden Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Runcorn

Jessie baptised 12/07/1892 Camden Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Runcorn

Polly baptised 18/02/1895 Camden Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Runcorn

CLARA ANNIE MOLYNEUX JOHNSON baptised 24/04/1898 Camden Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Runcorn  died 22/07/1898 at 21 James Street Widnes. BURIAL AT ST MARYS WIDNES

Florence Jessie - mother to all above Date of death 13/04/1898 at 20 English Row, Runcorn. Cause of death given as "chronic bronchitis, emphysema & childbirth - 2 days" could mean she was in labour for 2 days or died within 2 days of childbirth. Her husband William was present at the death and his occupation is given as Dock Labourer.

on 1901 census, William, eldest daughter Mary age 17, son William age 14 and daughter Polly age 5 all still living at 20 English Row. so seems likely Clara was taken in by other family member (William was very close to his elder brother Robert).

I very much appreciate your time and help, thank you

Williams 2nd wife was Sarah Helen Edwards. She was 19 when they married in 1901 so this could fit nicely. I hadnt got as far as births for Sarah - I thought there would be some just  as she was so young at marriage.
