Children of Mary Clift and Thomas Turner
« on: Saturday 20 March 21 15:43 GMT (UK) »
Help needed please. I have found three children that I hope belong to Thomas and Mary, but am unable to confirm as only the mothers first name is given, these children are:- Mary born 3rd May 1730, Elizabeth born 29th Nov 1731 and Ann born 12th Sept. 1736. The parents both came from White Notley and these three children were all born in White Notley.(The parents married in 1729) Thank you in advance for any help.

What you've found is all you'll get - mothers maiden names weren't shown then unfortunately.

You have missed Sarah baptised 13 January 1733 in White Notley, parents Thomas and Mary.

This is probably the parents marriage

Thomas Turner/Mary Cliff married White Notley 20 October 1729.

Hi,

You could look for the mother's burial to ensure she was alive for all the children's births and baptisms, although it doesn't prove Mary Clif(t) is the mother of all children at least it goes part way.

Modified to add, did a search for Mary Cliff/Clift 1733 to 1813, Essex on the EPRI, couldn't find one in White Notley or surrounding parishes.
Concentrating currently on:
Essex: Card, Harris, Stowell, Theobald/Tibbles & Turner.
Norfolk: Beale, Cork & Dalton.
Yorkshire: Oswald Sturdy birth/baptism c1708, Oswald where the devil are you?

Burial of Mary Turner, wife of Thomas Turner took place in White Notley 12 June 1753.

Mary Clift, daughter of William and Sarah baptised White Notley 6 November 1709.

I have these people on my tree and have 3 more children too: Hannah 1742, Hannah 1744 and Judith 1753.

As there only seem to be one lot of Thomas and Mary Turner's in the area, I've just accepted that the Mary is the Mary Clift he married in 1729.

Hi Diblet, Thanks, It looks as if Thomas & Mary were a bit unlucky with the Hannah's I just found that the second Hannah died  and was buried on 7th Dec 1744 so just aged 9 months,( 1st Hannah died about 3 month) I then looked for Judith she also died but she was older buried 20 Apr 1772 so aged 20. I think that I had better take a look at the other three children !!
