I am afraid this is one of my very faded old photos, and I hope you clever restorers can do something to improve it. I hope it is not too late to rescue the faces of the 2 boys before they disappear. I know nothing can find baby Elizabeth’s face – I suspect she was wriggling, and her face was just a white blur even when the photo was new.

Jim, thanks for your input, but the date you suggest is not possible. Maria and Bernard were married in 1878, Clermont, Queensland. The children: Louis born 1880, Bernard jnr born 1881 & Elizabeth born February 1883. The next daughter was born in Nov. 1884, so Maria is possibly pregnant in this photo.
