Monsall isolation hospital
« on: Sunday 21 March 21 15:15 GMT (UK) »
Hi my partner's late father was admitted to Monsall isolation hospital around the late
50's early 60's. He doesn't know why he went in there so wondered if anyone knew what diseases they would have been treated for and are there any records available. He also served abroad during WW2 so I wondered if he had malaria

Could have been lots of things such as Diphtheria, Scarlet Fever etc. Manchester City Council hold records for the patients from 1872-1961 why don't you get in touch you may be luck & get his records.

It was an isolation hospital.
My wife was sent there when she contracted Meningitis as a young child and her dad was they years before with TB.
The hospital was pulled down many many years ago and has never been built on and is still ringed with high fencing, so I suspect the ground is contaminated.
