Yes, thanks, I have all that. It's George's marital status when he married and father's details I'm after.

Also trying to find George and Ellen in 1871 on Ancestry but I must be pressing the wrong button. Just won't find it, which could explain a lot.

Yes but they're clearly different Georges. Who are you after? Mr Lydia or Mr Ellen

I'm having no issues with George & Ellen on Ancestry in 1871, but the full reference is  RG10; 3570; 72; 5;

Quite! But it does seem to be same George as the 1851 census.

They're only clearly different once you can see them in different censuses and Ancestry wasn't picking up George and Ellen for me. I think it's because I specified 'Derby' as residence, rather than Derbyshire. I've had this before where it doesn't like specific place names. I checked FindMyPast and took the details from there, now have located George and Ellen on all the sites. Still leaves me with a father for George.

Yes, I have that, too - and Samuel and Esther also had Ann bp 1819 which fits with the 1851 census, but a marriage record for George wouldn't hurt.

Hello  :)

I think you said in reply#6  George had married in Derby in 1840 and you hadn't seen the image.

Just for reference here is the link for the image (you need the free account for Familysearch)

George Harrison married Ellen Boddy - 11th Nov 1835 - Derby, St Peter's Church

Well, that's me accepting I need to lie in a darkened room and come back to it all another day. No idea why I couldn't find the 1835 marriage on Ancestry (it's there now I look), nor why I quoted 1840 in the previous post. In my feeble defence, Ancestry is being an absolute pig for me today but it's no excuse. FS is usually a better search function anyway.

Thanks to all.
