Beaumontcote. Barton on Humber
« on: Tuesday 06 April 21 15:28 BST (UK) »
I have child born in 1910 at Kings Road, Barnetby, unfortunately no number is given.
The mother was domestic servant at Beaumontcote, Barton on Humber.  Birth certificate.
Ive managed to find it on the 1901 census and there are quite a few families there, one family I found again in 1911 but it isn't specific on the adress, all are just Barton on Humber.
Was it an estate , village,  I'm not having much luck finding any information.
Thanks.

Thanks.  I found it now on 2 maps, 1901 and 1946, it looks quite remote.

I found Margaret Hesseltine had moved back to Liverpool by 1911, so still have no clues who was at Beaumontcote in 1911.  ???

1911
Beaumontcote has a farmer, Leonard S Riggall with female servants, okay to find on FMPast, if you have Ancestry search Alice White 1883 Langley, Cheshire.
There is also a female servant in the household of the farm foreman,   John Thomas Todd, 1865/6 Stainton le Vale

Ok, got it. Ive also found the child, mother and her family all at Beaumont cote just a few pages on.
They weren't there in 1901.
I'm wondering now why the child wasn't born at home but that's a mystery for now.
Thanks.

I used to be in this area once a fortnight for work.

Looking at a modern map Beaumontcote seems to be halfway between Brigg and Barton, about 14 miles. The road people would have used then would be the B1206. "it`s"  still there, but most people use the A15 to get to Barton.

Annie Evelyn Borrill (chr. 3.4.1881 St Edith’s Church, Little Carlton).   She
married Leonard Stainton Riggall (bap. 27.6.1874 St Michael Hackthorn) on 3.8.1904 at St Mary’s Church, Manby.  Leonard was working as a farmer at North Owersby.  The witnesses were John F Mills and John Riggall.
On 2.4.1911, they were living at Beaumont Cote, Barton on Humber, with their
children Leslie and Frances.   They had three servants, Alice White (b. 1883 Langley, Cheshire) domestic nurse, Florence Page (1893 Shifty Wookey) domestic cook, and Annie Cooper (b. 1894 Brandy Wharf) housemaid.    Leonard was a farmer.     Frank died in 1935 and was buried on 5.3.1935 at   Barton upon Humber.    Annie died in May 1936 and was buried on 1.6.1936 at Barton upon Humber.   Both were living at Beaumoncote, Barton upon Humber.     They had four children:-
Leslie Hugh Riggall (b.22.6.1905 North Owersby).  On 29.9.1939, he was in St John’s Hospital, Bracebridge Heath, mental patient and former poultry farmer.  He died in March, 1942, and was buried on 13.3.1942 at Barton upon Humber.
Frances May Riggall (b. 18.6.1910 bap. 12.8.1910 St Mary Church, Barton on Humber).
Enid Maude Mary Riggall (b. 11.6.1911 bap. 7.7.1911 Bonby).
Harry married Marguerite Y H De Lacretelle in (Jan-Mar) 1926 in St George Hanover Square, London.  Margueritte died on 25.10.1945.
Enid married Harry Edward Greenberry (b. 11.1.1899 bap. 26.2.1899 Fairfield, Liverpool) in (Jan-Mar) 1965 Westminster.     Harry was the son of Harry Walter, commercial traveller, and Emma Rebecca Greenberry.      Harry died in (Oct-Dec) 1981 in Newton Abbott District, Devon.    Enid died in (Jan-Mar) 1993, in Teignbridge District in Devon.
Frank Leonard Riggall (bap. 12.9.1913 Bonby).

Is this of any use for you.  It is extracts from my research form the Borrill family.
