Sorry I am getting in a bit of a muddle here.
There is an Elizabeth Scott in my tree & I got mixed up so forget the connection with George's mother.

Right I have had another look at the baptism record & his mother was Elizabeth Bremner but Elizabeth was spread over 2 lines & the beth looked like Scott ( I know it's my eyesight) & I obviously saw Scott as a witness & put 2 & 2 together to reach 55.
Sorry.

Search over. This can all be ignored as I have found that the Thomas Stuart son of Robert Stuart & Margaret Inkson died 30th September 1855 aged 83. Mother's name Inkson. He was also in Knockando in 1851 a farmer aged 79 married to Elizabeth & with 2 grown up children. So it looks like I am back to the original Thomas baptised in Aberlour in 1774. Thanks everyone for all your help & sorry it has all been wasted although I did pick up a few tips along the way.
