I can't see a death under either of his names with a birthdate of 24.1.1901.  However - if he died before 1969 his full birthdate will not be shown on the GRO entry

My goodness me, by sheer chance I have found a 'probate' record for an Alfred Robert Brown or Faucheux of 18 Clevedon Court Clive Road West Dulwich London died 3 June 1961

Administration London 7 July to Dorothy Mabel Brown widow.  Effects £933 1s 5d

Two possible marriages:-

That is strange as the name I found only for her death which mentioned also her birth dates is MOLLY (spelt that way) Ada Grace Brown not Jones otherwise it would not have come up for my search.  {Perhaps there is another one with the other spelling.   This was on ancestry
How in Ancestry can I find the Register and also  I have tried in Ancestry to find the voting register for Agnes with her 3 boys as mentioned above but cannot find it   Can you assist me   if I am looking in the wrong places.   I tried  Census and voting registers but did not get the link to them at all

I have not seen Agnes will although I have a list of the people in her grave in Kensal Rise London.  My father and his half sister Daisy (marjorie) was an executor and there was not much left to distribute - I remember all we grandchildren had to sign that we relinquished any claim as she had put so something about  anything left after her gifts was to be distributed between us.  There was not enough for her gifts anyway.  I have not got a link to her actual will.  I obviously do not understand the options in ancestry sufficiently yet.   I was typing when the last reply cam so thank you  what a find. I did have4 a reasonable memory of an aunt Dorothy so Thank you so much everyone  {Perhaps with either of the wives names (I think the Eltham one is more probable) but will check both I could find  Molly's birth details as well.

Go to Search, then Census & Electoral Rolls, then UK Census Collection.
Scroll down until you find 1939 England & Wales Register.

Remember that the 1939 Register is not a census, and neither is it an Electoral Register

Hmm, not sure about this but I have found an Alfred R Faucheux born 1899 in the 1939 Register.  Can't give a lot of info but I will say that he is living in the Wandsworth District of London.  On his own though. Pay particular attention to his birth date.

There is no Alfred Robert or Robert Alfred Faucheux birth registration two years either side of 1899 on the GRO.  The only one that appears in that time frame is:-

FAUCHEUX, ALEXANDER  EDWARD WARWICK    NONRICK 
GRO Reference: 1901  S Quarter in ST GILES  Volume 01B  Page 624

Tried to figure out the birth for an appropriate Dorothy Mabel Powell and was able (via other sources) to eliminate most of the ones I'd noted - this left me with a Dorothy Mabel Powell birth reg'd Dec.1899 Southwark and the other in Dec.1897 Chelsea.

Since Southwark is where Alfred and family lived 1920's and 1930's the most likely one could be the Dorothy Mabel Powell born Southwark 1899.

A Dorothy Mabel Brown born 26/10/1899 died 26/7/1979 Brighton and she left a will.   Since this has been driving me nuts and wills only £1.50 at present I have duly ordered it (worth it to put me out of my misery one way or the other) as a) would fit with a DMP birth reg'd Dec.1899 and b) died in Brighton (in area where family believed to have lived at one time although this would appear to be after husbands death).  IF the right will should hopefully refer to daughter Molly and where she might be.

Will report back once will received.  Could all be a red herring of course but fingers crossed!

Her death registration gives a birth date of 26.10.1899 so fits with the above birth.

She was living at Ground Floor Flat, 163 Ditchling Rise, Brighton at the time of her death.  Gives death date of 26 July 1979
