Alexander McLeod (abt 1780-) and Christina Munro

I haven't be able to find too much out about the parents so any help would be much appreciated.

Son Roderick was born in about 1804 and is married to Margaret Ross.  I think it might be them in Arboll in 1851.  John Ross father-in-law.  Married in Fearn in 1826.  Five distinct children are on Scotland's People all from Fearn.  David(2), Alexander, Donald, Christian, and Margaret.

He crofted at Pitkerrie, the farm is about 960 acres (1 davoch), which seems a bit large for a croft.  If anyone has an image of Pitkerrie, I would appreciate that too.

1881 census suggests Roderick may have been born in Creich.

If Roderick died in Scotland, have you checked his death reg on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk You should be able to confirm his parents' details from this reg, if that info was knows to the informant.

Roderick also gave Creich as his birth place in 1861. Everyone showing as being born in Fearn except for Roderick:

Janet is not showing on your list of children for them. Her christening/birth must be missing from the OPRs (not unusual).

What occupation was given for Roderick's father Alexander on his death cert?

There is a couple in Creich born c. 1780s called Alexander and Christy as possibles. In 1841, Alexander shows as weaver and in 1851, farmer of 4 acres.

Thanks.  On Roderick's death cert it gave his occupation as crofter.  It is his father Alexander McLeod that I am interested in.  His occupation was also crofter.  Alexander's wife's name was Christina Munro.  More info on either would help but I am a McLeod.
