Trying to date/identify Cardiff family

I would love to identify this photo from my grandparents house in Cardiff. It is from the Davies, Symons or Thomas family. I have an idea of who it may be depending on the date of the photo in relation to the age of the children so would be very grateful if anyone could give me an idea of the date. Also if there was any idea of how affluent or not they might be depending on their clothing.  The photo studio is J Long, Cardiff.

Thank you. That fits with the family I am thinking of -
Evan Davies born 1834 Newcastle Emlyn and Sarah Eliza Thomas born 1844 Bideford.
It would work for this to be them with their first 3 children born 1868, 1870 and 1871  the only issue being that the 1871 was a boy, my great grandfather. Would it have been likely for an 1870s toddler boy to be in a dress? I know that happened later as I have a photo of my Grandfather in 1910 in a dress with longish curly hair.

Boys & girls were dressed the same at this age so could be either.

Thank you. I will put it in the possibles for Evan and Eliza. They are my ‘favourite’ ancestors so I want it to be them.

I’ve wondered if this other unknown photo could be either the woman or the girl in the first photo. It was taken in Bristol but the same family have links to Bristol. The photo looks newer to me but maybe that’s just because it’s in better condition.

This is also 1870's so not one of the children.
The 2 women don't look the same to me but these
photos are very small & difficult to see close in.

Thank you. I had so much trouble trying to resize them to upload that I made them too small. I really appreciate you looking at them, you have given me something to work with. I live in hope that a distant relation yet to be discovered will come up with more photos one day.
