How do you know his birth year? Is it from a burial, or a guess from his marriage in 1797?

There is a public tree on Ancestry which has his parents as John and Elisabeth, and baptism 1 Jan 1776 at Hitcham.
They have his death in 1848, which I assume is the death registered at Cosford, aged 73? Does this fit with what you have already?

The Pearle family moved between Rattlesden, Hitcham, Brettenham and Thorpe Morieux.  My earliest ancestors of the Pearle line are John Pearle (b. Rattlesden 1541) and his wife Sislye Waddlove (b. 1550), my 10 x great grandparents.

At one time the Rattlesden PRs were online, and these were incredibly useful for research into this family.  I think they might now have been snatched up by a fee-paying site, as I can't immediately find them. But the good news is that I made copies so can still (fingers crossed) do look-ups on them.  The early research into my Pearle tree was undertaken by my uncle many years ago - pre internet - and he actually visited the parishes and went through the PRs.  Fortunately before he died he handed over his files to me (thanks Fred!).
