Anne Elizabeth Hackett was born in London UK 1843 -  Came to NZ in 1869 and married William Taylor in 1870 - he was killed in a portside accident 3 weeks later . Anne then married her 2nd husband Albert Allaway in 1876 and died in Wanganui NZ 1 Aug 1921. Her death cert names her Father as Joseph Hackett - a Polisher . Mother is given as Annie .  Most family trees instead show her parents as Richard Hackett and Mary Ann Styles of london

Yes - and thats the family most- including myself -have previously attached to Annie Allaway - however her death certificate says otherwise ?

You have to remember a death cert has information from a third party and entries can be wrong.
 It could be she spoke of Joseph often and the name came up......there is a brother Joseph on the census.

I myself have a certificate that I can prove has the wrong information as it was supplied by a non family member.

Yes - I did wonder about that - The death cert informant was the undertaker and gives an incorrect marriage date - probably that of her first marriage in 1870 - not her marriage to Albert Allaway in 1878
