Help reading old German script
« on: Thursday 29 April 21 00:42 BST (UK) »
I am starting this new post as I inserted it into an existing by mistake.

As I noted I have a letter written from my late Opa circa 1939-41 ish. It is believed this could be the last letter he ever wrote home to his family as he was in the German army based at the Black sea, later overrun by the Russian army. If it is what I think, he knew he wasn't coming home as the Russians didnt take prisoners.

I have tried a few pro-translation services and they are stumped so I found this forum which seems the right place to be. My Opa grew up in Bavaria and I think he may have been in his late 20's when this was written......I just need help to see if it is what I think

I am also having trouble uploading my scan as seems that attachment is beyond 900kb, dont know how to change it
