I trust that the electronic registers are in fully protected places, with full Faraday cages, to prevent loss of everything if another Carrington effect happens.

If one does, and things are not properly protected, ALL things electronic will be useless.

Our clergyman told us yesterday that churches will be keeping their own records, and showed us the new book. I am not sure if this is voluntary?
At least they will survive when the world's electronics fail!

I can't see anything to deter those who make money from organising marriages between British residents and  illegal immighrants.

Several years ago when town and city churches and registrars were successful in weeding out marriages organised by gangs, our. then,  village vicar was duped forty-seven times, believing that strangers who approached him had recently bought property in the village and it would be so romantic to marry in the village church.
