Thank you very much Emma.  The information you have supplied has filled in some gaps.  I don't know what happened to Sarah, I think she must have died.  The fact that Jane isn't there means that Richard hadn't remarried by that date.  It narrows down the period when he could have married her.
I went to Beverly to look at the Parish records, but the Leonard's seemed lacks at registering births, marriages and deaths.

Thank you again

Louise

No problem....

This is the 1871 - B(r)ake House Yard, Hunmanby

Richard Leonard, Head, 53, Labourer, East Yorks Hunmanby
Jane Leonard, Wife, 25, Bempton
Ann Elizabeth, Daughter, 7, Hunmanby
Mary Jane Leonard, Daughter, 2, Hunmanby

RG10/4813 Pg22

So if Ann Elizabeth was born between 1863 and 1864, then that should narrow down the search for the marriage.  Also...

Bridlington
Created 1st July 1837.
Sub-districts : Bridlington; Hunmanby; Skipsea.
GRO volumes : XXIII (1837-51); 9d (1852-1930).
